For the past few days I've been finishing up the assets for my exterior scenery as well as setting them up in 3D space in After Effects. The link between the ai. files in Illustrator and the Ae. project means I can go back and edit an asset and reload it in Ae.

I have really enjoyed setting up the scene in After Effects but the composition of the establishing shot is proving more difficult than expected. Because there is so much going on in terms of detail and colours, it's difficult to keep the audiences' eye on the most important asset of all - the diner (which still needs to be completed and pre-comped before it can be placed in the Backdrop comp.)
I've also been illustrating the characters and filling in the Asset Excel sheet as I go.
Here is my progress so far.
