My proposed solo project is a 2D animation short story. The story features just two characters; a young waitress and a business man and is set in a New York diner during the 1950's. I am intending to create an After Effects animation piece using illustrations and perhaps CG backgrounds.
The Story Synopsis
A man orders everything off the menu at a diner and has conveniently forgotten his wallet. Being the cleverest businessman in the whole of New York, he thinks he can get away with it, but not if the waitress has anything to do with it!
Software
I am intending to be use the following softwares to produce my film:
Pre - Production - Photoshop, Sketchbook Pro, Flash and Maya
Production - Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and maybe Flash
Post - Production - After Effects and Premiere Pro
This list of softwares is not definite. I have yet to decide how I want my film to look in terms of visual style so this list is still open to change.
I have been watching quite a few childrens' show episodes to get inspiration and use them as research for how I will produce the film.
Style Inspiration
I particularly like this episode of Sesame Street, one of many productions from a studio called Sesame Workshop, a non profit educational organisation for children all over the world.
