Project Inspiration - Case Study: Ben Hibon

Ben Hibon is an animation director. He studied Fine Art where he was born in Geneva, Switzerland. In 1996 he moved to London where he studied Graphic Design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and obtained his Masters degree there too. He became a director after four years experience of being a Creative Director for various studios.


His most recent work was The Tale of The Three Brothers animated sequence from Waner Bros. 2010 Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part One, as well as the opening sequence from director Tarsem Singh's 2012 live action comedy drama, Mirror Mirror. 

Hibon's unique graphic art style has been noticed by many distinguished and smaller studios around the world. He got hired by Capcom to work on an in-game animated sequence for their "Killer 7" video game  as well as some elements from "Tokyo Zombie", a Japanese horror movie by director Sakichi Sato.

In 2007, Hibon was commissioned by Sony Playstation to create and direct an animated mini-series based on their popular Heavenly Sword video game.

Ben's own film, "Codehnters", has been shown at numerous festivals all over the world, winning various awards and nominations. Ben also collaborated with director Haylar Garcia for some time. They recently released a teaser trailer for their animated zombie movie "A.D."
