Research & Development - Cell Shading

To create the 2D look for my CG backgrounds, I have decided to go for a cell shaded look to my assets. I've been following some tutorials online and am enjoying playing around with the attributes of Maya's Toon shaders to create a nice 2D look for some of my CG assets. 



I'm trying to be creative and thinking of how lights will interact with my scenes, especially the diner interior since it is very bright from the local light sources. Here I've tried to create a sense the cup is close to a neon sign on the wall in the diner.
