Story Notes

As I have been developing my film, I have placed little things amongst the character designs and story that have more meaning that they appear on the surface.

- Man doesn't bring money / bank cards on purpose - essentially the man is the villain - his motive is to get free food

- The moth escaping from the man's wallet signifies the end of his deceitful ways

- The moth being attracted to the neon sign with the waitresses'  name on it signifies the certain end of the moth and therefore the man's ways

- The moth dying symbolises the characters disbelief in each other and what's just happened

- The camera is always in diner - except for the establishing shots at the very beginning and very end, as well as the shot of the party looking down on Betty half way through the film - confined space, feel like you're trapped with her in the diner, feel more for her

- man's nose - huge like Pinnochio - liar!

- the man is shorter than the woman and is always under her nose - always watching him - no escape.

- character's scale with each other - Betty is even (head, torso, legs 1;1:1 ratio) whilst man is about (hair, head, torso, legs) 1/2:1:1:1/2 ( a little 'odd' ) - uses his hair as a way to look approachable due to its roundness as well as his small feet to make him look cute and slow when in actual fact he's sly and snake like
